Week 9 EOC: Three Great Mission Statements

Your mission statement is an opportunity to define your business. It should tell your company story and ideals in less than 30 seconds.

"Mission statements should be meaningful and specific yet motivating. They should emphasize the company’s strengths in the marketplace." (Marketing An Introduction)

After going over the Mission Statements there were three that I found that hit this target closely. Those three people are: Tonia Rocheleau, Eric Arquileta, and Raymond Otero.

They all did a great job of writing their mission statements. Tonia covered just about everything the product and business she’s marketing is about without going into great lengths.

“A mission statement defines in a paragraph or so any entity's reason for existence.” (http://www.missionstatements.com)

Eric’s mission statement was all about the product and what the customer can expect from it. He did a great job at nailing down all the benefits and features of the product he is marketing.

Raymond’s mission statement talked about the product as well. He addresses issues that some markets would be concerned with when it comes to air fresheners and the environment. The last sentence in his mission statement pretty much sums it all up. “Clean smelling air and clear air to breath is our mission, which we plan to create with our product.“ He kept it short and concise and that is something that should be kept in mind when writing any mission statement.

Week 8 EOC: Disastrous New Products

Every year thousands of new products hit the shelves in stores across America. But, only a few hundred remain after the first year.

Here are 3 products that I think will not do well on the consumer market.

1. Roberto's Taco Shop Frozen Entrees

Most of us have tried Roberto's Taco Shop and it's pretty good especially after a long night of clubbing or bar hopping. But, have you ever tried to reheat a carne asada burrito or rolled tacos? Yuck! It just doesn't work! Imagine popping a carne asada fries frozen entree in the microwave. I just don't see it working.

2. Spray On Teeth Whitener

There's just about every type of teeth whitener on the market today. There's tooth pastes, mouthwash, kits, brushes, lasers, and more. Now days you can even go to the mall and get your teeth whitened. I think the last thing we need is a spray on teeth whitener.

3. Ladies Electronic Booty Enhancer

I'm sure you seen those ridiculous belts that wrap around your abs and zaps you until you have those six pack abs you always wanted. Imagine if there was a product that does this for your butt! Can you imagine someone with one of these strapped to their butt shocking them to a fuller firmer rear end?!

Final: Price

Price

"The amount of money charged for a product or service, or the sum of the values that customers exchange for the benefits of having or using the product or service." (Marketing An Introduction)

Women value their looks and most will pay just about any amount of money to look the best that they can. With the average man the price has to be reasonable or they will not be pulling out their wallet.

With Noxzema, the average cost for a 12 oz jar is around $4.99. I believe most men will see the value in this and wouldn’t mind paying that amount for a face cleansing product. In order to raise the price there would have to be something unique about the product. If the price is to low

Final: Distribution

Final: Promotion

Final: Product

Final: Target Market Strategy

Final: Situation or SWOT Analysis

SWOT Analysis

"An overall evaluation of the company’s strengths (S), weaknesses (W), opportunities (O), and threats (T)." (Marketing An Introduction)

Here is my SWOT analysis for Noxzema.

Strength:

Final: Objectives

Final: Business Mission Statement

"Some companies define their missions myopically in product or technology terms (“We make and sell furniture” or “We are a chemical-processing firm”). But mission statements should be market oriented and defined in terms of satisfying basic customer needs. " (Marketing An Introduction)

My business mission statement for Noxzema is market oriented. It targets males who desire to have a clean, healthy looking face. Which will boost any guys confidence.

Mission Statement:

Noxzema is committed to helping active men achieve a cleaner, healthier face, while at the same time helping boost confidence to get more out of life. Look better. Feel better.

Final: Project Pitch

The product I decided to market is a face cleansing product that has been around for years. It's called Noxzema and I'm sure most of you have heard of it or even used it at some time.

Most of the commercials you see today that market face wash products are targeted towards women with women in them. But, men are just concerned about their appearance as women are.

Noxzema helps by removing dirt, oil, and make up. There are benefits to this. My objective is to focus on these benefits. Some of the benefits are:

1. Helps you attain clear, healthy skin
2. You will attract more sexy women
3. Boost your confidence

The commercial will go as follows:

The commercial will target single, active men. It will show a guy who just got off a football field or just got done with work as a auto mechanic. He gets home and is standing in the bathroom in front of the mirror with a dirty face. He reaches over and grabs some Noxzema applies it and then bends down to wash his face. He raises his head back up in front of the mirror and a guy with a clean, healthy face appears. He heads out that night to the club/bar and he notices a bunch of sexy ladies eying and smiling at him. He confidently approaches a group of ladies at the bar and they great him with smiles and one of them gently touches his face.
